This alsoeclipsed the previous best for the fourth wicket for England againstPakistan which was the 109 between Graham Gooch and David Capel atKarachi on 20-11-1987.The Trescothick-Owais partnership was also the highest for England forthe fourth wicket against all countries beating the unbeaten 154 runpartnership between Neil Fairbrother and Graeme Hick against Sri Lankaat Adelaide on 23-01-1999.The victory margin of 2 runs was Pakistan’s narrowest against Englandin all ODIs. It had beaten England by three runs at this same groundon 1992. It was the fifth occasion that England was losing a match by2 runs.
