The Athletic’s David Ornstein has revealed that Crystal Palace’s move for Nathan Ferguson is now off and that the south Londoners will not be making any more signings this month. The West Brom full-back underwent a medical with the south Londoners on Wednesday according to Ornstein’s colleague Dominic Fifield, before completing a transfer which would’ve been worth a potential £11m.
However, Ornstein has now revealed that a move to sign the 19-year-old is a no-go just minutes before the 11pm deadline.
If that wasn’t enough of a blow for the Eagles, The Athletic journalist then adds that Steve Parish and Dougie Freedman’s work for the month is finished, meaning that only Cenk Tosun has arrived on loan from Everton while 18-year-old Scott Banks also signed from Dundee United – the teenager has already been loaned out to Alloa Athletic.

The Express reported on Wednesday that Roy Hodgson was ‘close to breaking point’ over the club’s transfer dealings, so we can’t imagine that the former England manager will be too happy after hearing the news.
