Hampshire’s Shane Warne and Somerset’s Peter Bowler have been reprimanded by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) after an onfield incident during a county game at Taunton last week. Warne and Bowler have received three penalty points each – a total of nine over a season result in an automatic suspension, and the points stay in the record for 12 months.Warne and Bowler were reported by the umpires, Barrie Leadbeater and Mervyn Kitchen, for a Level Two breach of the ECB’s discipline code, which bars using language or a gesture that is obscene or of a serious insulting nature to another player.
