Barcelona's quest to unearth the next teenage sensation from the South American soil continues with 17-year-old Joao Vitor Roraima, who has been taken on trial by the club following a recommendation from sporting director Deco.

The report comes from who state that Roraima's performances at the Sao Paulo Juniors Cup are believed to have caught Barcelona’s attention, in particular Deco, who personally rallied for the player to be taken on trial. The promising playmaker currently plays for Ibrachina, a lesser-known club based in East Sao Paulo. Ibrachina celebrated the move on social media, calling it proof of the club’s growing stature within Brazilian football and its ability to produce top-tier talent.

Roraima prefers to play as a No.10, but is yet to make his debut for Brazil at youth levels. As per EU regulations, Barcelona will not be able to sign Roraima officially as a player until he turns 18. The Catalans will use the coming days to assess the player's potential before making any decision.
